Hey Tides & Incoming Tides!

We hope you're enjoying your summer! We are excited to welcome all of our incoming 9th grade students and students who are new to Gig Harbor High School to Tides 101 on Tuesday, August 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Tides 101 is designed to help you get comfortable before the school year begins and introduce you to what it truly means to be a Tide. During the event, you'll have the opportunity to get your school photo taken, tour the campus, meet members of our staff, learn about the many resources available to support you, and connect with other students by making new friends before the first day of school.

Last week, HOSA members joined other health science students on a trip to Seattle Children's Hospital, where they studied foodborne illness, bacteria, and more! Thank you to Seattle Children's for the amazing experience!

Hey Tides

Just a quick reminder that School Pictures will be taken on Monday, Sept. 8th, throughout the school day. If you had the opportunity to get your picture taken on August 19th you're all good! All remaining students should plan on having their photo taken for their school ID and for the yearbook.

If you are a Running Start student and haven't had your picture taken, please come to the school between 8:00-1:30 to get that done. Photos will be taken in the Aux Gym.

Please note, these photos are used for identification purposes. Students will need to dress in school-appropriate attire, and students will not be permitted to wear hats in their photo.

Get Ready! It’s time for the 2025 Fishbowl Game! The 2025 Fishbowl game between Gig Harbor High School and Peninsula High School is almost here.

Game Details:
Date: Saturday, September 6
Time: Gates open at 3:45 p.m., kick-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Location: Mt. Tahoma Stadium, 4634 S. 74th St., Tacoma, WA.

Important Ticket Information
Tickets will be sold via GoFan (https://gofan.co/app/school/WA23221). Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or at the gate. NO CASH will be accepted at the ticket gates. Credit cards will be accepted. Free admission is available for preschool students and students with valid ASB cards.

Ticket Prices:
Adults - $9.24
Non-PSD Student and High School Students with No ASB Card - $9.24
Seniors (62+) - $6.15
Military members - $6.15
PSD Middle School Students with ASB Cards- $6.15
PSD High School Students with ASB Cards - FREE
Elementary students and children under 5 - FREE

Game Day Rules:
A clear bag policy will be in effect. Clear bags may no be larger than 12”x6”x12”. Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5”x6.5” are permitted. Medically necessary bags and diaper bags are allowed after being screened.
Please leave valuables at home.
Middle school students and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
No tailgating allowed.
No re-entry once you leave the stadium.
Each school has a designated parking lot. View the attached map for reference.
Security will be present throughout the event.

This is one of our community’s biggest celebrations of school spirit and athletic excellence. Let’s fill the stands and show our Seahawks and Tides pride!

Hey Tides

What are you doing on Tuesday, August 19th? You’re coming to the high school to get your school photo taken, of course!

We would like to have as many of our students come on Tuesday to get their school photo taken before the start of the school year. Having your school ID in hand before school starts will also make it easier to get into the Fishbowl on Saturday, September 6th!

Tides 101 will be happening from 9:00-Noon and Freshmen will have the opportunity to get their picture taken then. 10th-12th grade students can come between the hours of Noon-3:00 to get their photo taken.

Hey Tides

On Tuesday, August 19th, we need all incoming 9th-grade students and any grade-level students new to the Tide Nation to join us from 9:00 a.m. to noon for our Tides 101 event! Come and find out what it means to be a Tide, pick up your class schedule, find your classes and get familiar with the campus, have your school photo for your school ID and the yearbook taken, get introduced to the counseling team, learn about the resources available to you at Gig Harbor High School, and be there to meet up with your friends and to make new ones!

We're thrilled to welcome Brandon Bakke as our new Assistant Principal at Gig Harbor High School!

With 29 years in education, Brandon brings excellent experience from his time as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, and as principal of Fife High School (2018-2022). He's passionate about building a positive school culture and has been featured in Washington Principal Magazine for his work.
