The votes are in!

With a combined total from Facebook and Instagram, Dad Joke #3 takes the title:

"How do you know a joke is a dad joke?"
"When it's a parent."

Congrats to Abe Edmonson, FF/EMT and Prevention Specialist at GHFMO, and proud dad of three! His kids may be a little too young to appreciate dad jokes right now, but we're pretty sure the eye rolls are coming.

Normally, we'd be sharing our annual Dad Joke Competition around Father's Day, but this year we've been a little busy getting ready for the Grand Opening of our new Training Campus.

A few members still answered the call, so we've put together a special Dad Joke Competition: Written Edition!

Swipe through the jokes and then vote for your favorite by commenting the joke number below OR liking the photo.

The joke with the most votes across Facebook and Instagram will earn unofficial bragging rights and be crowned our 2026 Dad Joke Champion. Winner will be announced on Monday!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, and father figures in our community. Now let's hear which joke gets your vote!

In observance of Juneteenth, our District Headquarters is closed today. All phone calls and messages will be returned when we're back in the office on Monday, June 22.

Our fire stations remain fully staffed and ready to respond as always.

Our wildfire deployment continues.

After initially supporting operations on the OIE Fire, our crew has now been reassigned to the Upriver Fire near Spokane, where they are currently assigned to structure protection operations at the head of the fire.

Wishing our crew a safe deployment as they work to protect lives, homes, and property.

At last week's City of Gig Harbor City Council meeting, Division Chief Patrick Phillips accepted the Battle of the Badges trophy on behalf of Gig Harbor Fire & Medic One, extending our Battle of the Badges winning streak for another year.

While we're proud of the win, the real impact comes from everyone who donated blood. Every donation helps ensure lifesaving blood products are available for patients when they need them most.

Thank you to the Gig Harbor Police Department , the Red Cross, and everyone in our community who rolled up their sleeves to participate in this year's Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
