🚧👷 **Construction Day in the Classroom!** 👷♀️🚧
Mrs. Van Cuyck’s classroom became a construction zone! Across every subject, students were **constructing, deconstructing, digging, building, and creating** as they put their learning to work.
🔨 In **math**, students used the distributive property to break apart large multiplication problems into smaller, easier-to-solve equations. They also put their skills to work in our sand center by reading and solving word problems and designing construction sites, roads with equal groups of cars, and parking lots.
🧱 In **reading and word work**, students constructed new words by changing closed-syllable words into vowel-consonant-e words. Then they added suffixes, carefully checking spelling rules along the way.
🌙 In **science**, students really *dug in*—to Oreos! They used the filling to model and identify the different phases of the moon.
Learning is always more exciting when we can roll up our sleeves, get creative, and **build our understanding one piece at a time!** 🚜🏗️📚
