After a week of patiently awaiting the ballot tabulations, I am humbled to announce that I have been elected to the Gilbert Town Council. Gilbert, the largest town in America, is a thriving community of more than 288,000 people that still feels like a small town. I look forward to providing servant leadership while working with the Council, Town of Gilbert staff, and the many stakeholders in our community over the next four years. We have some very critical decisions to make to ensure we remain a safe and vibrant community, maintaining the high standards and quality of life we have come to enjoy.
First and foremost, I want to thank God for guiding me through this process. It was through much prayer and reflection that I decided to enter the race, and I am grateful for the strength and direction I received throughout this journey.
I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support of my amazing wife and family. Campaigning is challenging and time-consuming, especially for a first-time candidate, and their love and encouragement never wavered.
I would also like to extend my gratitude to my opponent, Aaron Accurso. I committed to a civil and respectful campaign, avoiding any negative tactics, and I am thankful that Aaron shared this commitment. Together, we demonstrated that politics can be conducted with integrity and respect, focusing on policies and principles rather than personal attacks. Through the commitment to stay authentic, civil and respectful, unifying people and respecting our differences rather than creating hate and division, there is still hope that we can change the larger political climate moving forward.
Thank you to the many supporters who contributed their time, effort, endorsements, and resources to this campaign. There are too many to mention individually, but please know that I am deeply humbled by your tremendous support and trust. The runoff election significantly lengthened the journey, and your steadfast support carried me through to the end. I am truly grateful for each and every one of you.
Finally, I want to thank the thousands in our community who exercised their precious right to vote. Whether you voted for me or for my opponent, I respect and appreciate your diligence in making an informed choice. I am committed to serving this entire community to the best of my ability, working with the Council to make the right decisions for the right reasons.
God bless.
