🚨 Funeral Arrangements Announced for Fallen Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira 💙🖤

Funeral arrangements have been announced for Michael Pahira, the 44-year-old Pennsylvania State Trooper who lost his life Wednesday after being struck by a tractor-trailer while conducting a commercial vehicle inspection along Interstate 81.

According to his obituary, family, friends, fellow troopers, and members of the public are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at North Schuylkill High School Auditorium.

Following the service, Trooper Pahira's family has requested that first responders and members of the community line Centre Street in Ashland as the funeral procession makes its way to the cemetery. The graveside service will be private.

Trooper Pahira proudly served the Pennsylvania State Police for nearly 20 years, dedicating his career to protecting the people of the Commonwealth.

🚨 UPDATE IN THE DEATH OF PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE TROOPER MICHAEL PAHIRA

According to a release recieved by the Boston Herald, The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that the Massachusetts truck driver accused of striking and killing Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Michael Pahira is a Haitian national who was in the United States illegally, according to the agency.

The suspect, 33-year-old Michael Bon of Massachusetts, is accused of causing the deadly crash on the morning of July 1 along Interstate 81 in Cass Township, Schuylkill County.

According to investigators, Trooper Pahira was conducting a commercial vehicle safety inspection when a tractor-trailer left the roadway, struck his marked PSP vehicle, and then hit the stopped commercial vehicle before striking Trooper Pahira. Both trucks caught fire following the collision. Trooper Pahira was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries despite extensive lifesaving efforts.

Trooper Michael Pahira, 44, served with the Pennsylvania State Police since 2007 and was assigned as a Motor Carrier Enforcement Trooper with Troop L in Frackville. He became the 106th member of the Pennsylvania State Police to die in the line of duty.

Court records show Bon is facing numerous felony charges, including:
• Three counts of Third-Degree Murder
• Homicide by Vehicle
• Manslaughter
• Aggravated Assault
• Additional offenses related to the fatal crash.

The case has drawn national attention after DHS announced the driver's immigration status. The criminal case remains active, and prosecutors continue to move forward with the charges.
