New Hanover Township received a proposed revised final plan from JEP, LLC called Trotter’s Gait on June 3, 2026. The revised final plan, in accordance with the preliminary plan approval resolution, will create 29 single-family homes on 13.98 acres of land on Dotterer Road; North Charlotte Street is the nearest cross street. The applicant received a preliminary plan approval from the Board of Supervisors during its meeting on April 5, 2018.

This iteration of the plan will be tentatively scheduled for the PC agenda on August 12, 2026.

Progress is taking shape at Swamp Creek Park! Our Public Works crew is busy installing the roof on the new pavilion, bringing this exciting project one step closer to completion. 🛠️

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the team members who help improve our parks and public spaces every day. The pavilion is looking fantastic, and we can't wait to welcome the community to enjoy it soon.

♻️📺 Electronics Recycling Day – Community Impact Recap 🌿

Thanks to our residents, this year’s Electronics Recycling Day was a great success! 👏 A total of 171 vehicles came through, dropping off 527 electronic items for safe, environmentally responsible recycling.

Compared to last year’s event, the Township saw a 54% increase in total items collected, with televisions increasing by 21% and computers/laptops increasing by 18%. Your continued participation is helping make this event more successful each year!

🕗 Our busiest time was 8:00–8:30 AM, showing just how dedicated our early birds are!

🔌 Most commonly collected items:
Televisions – 143 units
Printers – 52
Desktop Computers – 48
Laptops – 43
Monitors – 29
CD/VCR/DVD Player – 29

🌎 A big thank you to all who participated and helped promote sustainability in our community!

The updated website will feature a fresh new look and enhanced accessibility while keeping the same familiar navigation residents and visitors are used to.

New Hanover Township received a sketch plan application from Select Properties for the property on North Charlotte Street (across from the New Ridge Fellowship’s North Campus) on May 21, 2026. The proposed plan includes 50 townhouse/twin units on 16.2 acres of land on North Charlotte Street; Dotterer Road is the nearest cross street.

No formal reviews are required as part of the sketch plan process. The developer has requested feedback from the Planning Commission, which is tentatively scheduled for the PC agenda on August 12, 2026.

New Hanover Township received a preliminary plan application with revised plan sheets from Abraham and Lauren Waltenbaugh called “2026-03_Deep Creek Road Subdivision” on May 21, 2026. The preliminary plan is proposing to subdivide 134.97 acres into 10 lots (8 new lots) on Deep Creek Road; Parestis Road is the nearest cross street. Based on its initial application, this plan is protected from ordinances changes after April 27, 2026.

The final plan is proposing to create 52 single-family homes on 22.90 acres of land on Rhodes Road; Liberty Bell Drive is the nearest cross street. The applicant received a preliminary plan approval from the Board of Supervisors during its meeting on May 7, 2026.

New Hanover Township, Montgomery County, PA, is seeking a skilled and experienced professional to serve as its next Finance Director.

💼 Salary: $80,000-$100,000
🕓 Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours/week, Monday-Thursday
✅ Excellent benefits package

This leadership position is responsible for overseeing all Township and Authority financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, payroll, audits, financial reporting, pension administration, and compliance with governmental accounting standards.

Qualified candidates should possess:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Minimum of five years of professional accounting/budgetary experience
Municipal government experience preferred
CPA or CPFO certification preferred
Ability to be bonded

📅 Application Deadline: June 3, 2026
📅 Interviews anticipated to begin: June 8, 2026
