Attention Members: There will be a planned power outage beginning at midnight on Sunday, April 19, to allow TVA to install new equipment at our Benton Substation. (Saturday night, into Sunday morning.)

Impacted locations include Scale Road, Griggstown, Briensburg, areas north and south of Highway 68, Fairdealing, the Moors area, and Big Bear Highway. Power is expected to be restored within approximately four hours.

As always, we will keep you posted should any issues arise.

If any neighboring departments can help with a truck donation or even a loaner truck until this Western Kentucky department can get something arranged. Please message our page if you are able to help. This is the only truck with a pump they have.

Tonight we will have a meal at 5:15 with training to follow at 6:00 located at Station 1 – 7584 Moors Camp Hwy, Gilbertsville, KY
All departments are welcome to attend training and eat with us!

This prop allows firefighters to demonstrate and observe fire control, ventilation effects, and suppression techniques in a controlled environment. It’s an excellent hands-on training opportunity for participating departments.

Our crews are winter-ready and prepared to respond as conditions allow, with limited station staffing during winter weather.

The following apparatus have been equipped with tire chains to improve traction and response:
Engine 404
Engine 405
Ladder 401
Brush 409 

We ask everyone to stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary to help keep roads clear for emergency responders.

A big thank you to the Marshall County Road Department for plowing the station and helping keep our response routes open.

It was our pleasure to deploy Truck 402 at Central Elementary this morning to greet students. Who needs a sleigh when you have a fire truck. We are grateful to Firefighter Stevens for facilitating this experience for all the children.

The seasonal 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. burn restriction has ended as of December 15. Residents may resume outdoor burning in accordance with state and local guidelines.

⚠️ Please remember:
Even though the restriction has lifted, conditions can still be dangerous. Dry weather, wind, and debris can cause fires to spread quickly. If you plan to burn:
• Monitor weather and wind conditions
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Have water or suppression tools readily available
• Fully extinguish fires when finished

🚫 Burn bans may still be issued locally if conditions warrant. Always check before burning.
