GILFORD - The Gilford Department of Public Works announces shim layer paving by Busby Construction/Wolcott Paving, Friday, May 8, 2026 on Silver St and Colonial Drive.

Detours and alternating single lanes of traffic will be utilized during paving, therefore delays should be expected. Work is all weather dependent. Please contact the Gilford Department of Public Works (603) 527-4778 with any questions. Thank you for your patience.

**The final overlay course will be installed at a later date and the SAM Seal section will be completed in July by a different contractor.

Route 3 Bypass – Gilford/Laconia/Belmont

*** UPDATE 5/5/26 - NHDOT SAID PIKE IS MOVING SCHEDULE UP TO MAY 11 START AND THIS WILL BE NIGHT WORK ***

GILFORD – The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announces upcoming roadway work on the Route 3 Bypass in Gilford (Project 45073). This project will be completed by Pike Industries and includes resurfacing of the mainline and ramps.
The anticipated schedule from NHDOT is as follows:
• Week 1: Shim/leveling course
• Week 2: Milling of the Bypass mainline
• Week 3: Milling of ramps
• Week 4: Final paving (“top coat”)
Motorists should expect alternating lane closures, changing traffic patterns, and minor delays throughout the duration of this project. All work is weather dependent and subject to change. Any questions, please call NHDOT District 3 at 603-524-6667.

The Town of Gilford DPW is looking for hardworking individuals to join our team!

Seasonal Laborers ($18–$20/hr):
• Highway Team: M–F, 6 (40 hrs/week for 6 months)
• Cemetery Team: M–F, (40 hrs/week for 3 months)
• Solid Waste Team: Tues–Sat, (40 hrs/week for 6 months)

Part-Time Custodian ($20–$25/hr):
• Year-round position, approx. 20 hrs/week
