International Firefighters’ Day is observed each year on 4th May. On this date you are invited to remember the past firefighters who have died while serving our community or dedicated their lives to protecting the safety of us all. At the same time, we can show our support and appreciation to the firefighters world wide who continue to protect us so well throughout the year. Let us also thank our families and the sacrifices they have made to be able to serve those in their times of need. Thank you.

Fire Prevention Week is October 9th - 15th 2022 and it’s also the 100 year anniversary of the initiative.

During the week, adults and children alike are encouraged to practice their fire escape plan in their home and are educated in staying safe in case of a fire. If your family doesn’t have a plan, we encourage all residents to develop a fire escape plan and know at least two ways out of every room in their home. Practice you fire escape plan at least twice per year. Stay FIRE safe!

Governor Mark Gordon, pursuant to a Presidential Proclamation, has ordered both the U.S. and State of Wyoming flags be flown at half-staff statewide for the entire day on Sunday, October 9 in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service and to pay our respects to brave firefighters and first responders who risk their lives to protect Americans.

Let us give thanks for the ultimate sacrifices our fallen firefighters have given to their communities. May our thoughts and prayers be with their families, friends, and fellow brother and sister firefighters. Never forgotten.
