● youth activities such as baseball, gymnastics, soccer, ice hockey, arts, and reading;
● senior citizen
activities at the senior center;
● street and road improvements such as the reconstruction of 4-J Road or Warlow Drive;
● parks improvements and beautification efforts such as the new playground equipment installed at Dalbey Memorial Park and Heritage Park, improvements to the Little League baseball fields and parking lot, 4-J Road beautification and Lakeway Road beautification;
● wastewater and drainage enhancements such as the installation of the South Douglas Highway sewer trunk line, the improvements currently being made to the wastewater treatment plant or the Silverado Center drainage improvement project;
● human services provided by agencies such as the YES House, CASA, GARF, and Wright Community Assistance;
● new and improved facilities such as the Wright Public Library, remodel of the Campbell County library in Gillette, and the new public health building;
● bike paths throughout the County
These are just a few examples of the types of projects that are funded by the Optional 1% Sales Tax. The money is spent locally according to priorities set by the registered voters of Campbell County. Your pennies, spent according to your priorities, help make Campbell County a more attractive place to live. Remember to vote YES for the Sales and Use Tax on Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
