We will be closing the shower house at Green Castle Recreation Area on Friday, November 7th for the Winter. We will reopen the shower house on approximately, April 1, weather permitting.

The East Marshall Cross Country team is holding a 5K Run/Walk fundraiser at Green Castle Recreation Area on Saturday, August 16. Registration and waiver sign in starts at 10:15 am and the race starts at 11 am. If you would like to help with the event or need further information email [email protected] or [email protected]. In case you haven't heard, Green Castle Campground is OPEN! Green Castle Recreational Campground provides electric hook-up sites with access to water, as well as ADA-accessible sites. Campsites operate on a first-come, first-served basis and feature self-registration. Campground include playgrounds, picnic tables, and fire rings. Includes also a shower house with restrooms.

Cost is $22/night.

16 sites which includes 2 ADA accessible sites.

If this colder weather has you thinking ice fishing, be sure to check ice thickness before you go and remember:
🧊 No ice is 100 percent safe.
🧊 New ice is usually stronger than old ice.
🧊 Don’t go out alone; let someone know where you are going and when you will return.
🧊 Check ice thickness as you go out.
🧊 Avoid off-colored snow or ice. It is usually a sign of weakness.
🧊 The insulating effect of snow slows down the freezing process.
🧊 Bring along these basic items to help keep you safe: hand warmers, ice cleats to help prevent falls, ice picks (wear around your neck) to help you crawl out of the water if you fall in, a life jacket, a floating safety rope, a whistle to call for help, a basic first aid kit, and extra dry clothes, including a pair of gloves.
