Bridge will be complete within the hour (Wednesday, May 13th, current time 1:00pm).
The Town of Gilmanton is pleased to announce that the Middle Rte. Bridge project has been fully completed ahead of schedule. Thanks to skilled and efficient work by the project team of M.A. Bean Associates, and our highway crew, the roadway will be fully accessible beginning Thursday morning.
In addition to the bridge work, an additional culvert near 382 Middle Rte. has been successfully replaced. Please use caution when traveling through this area. The road surface has not yet been patched, and there is a significant bump that drivers should be aware of. Warning signage is clearly visible.
We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation throughout this project and are glad to share this positive progress for our roadways.

🚧 Highway Department Update – Progress Across Town! 🚧
Great news—the Middle Rte. Bridge project is almost finished and running a full week ahead of schedule! Paving of the bridge deck is planned for today, May 11th. For everyone’s safety, please stay out of the area until we officially announce the road reopening and all closure signs are removed.
Town-wide grading is underway, the excavator has arrived for summer‑long ditching work, and roadside mowing will begin soon to improve sight lines.
Paving in the Iron Works area is scheduled to start this week, weather permitting. Roads included in this round of paving:
• Cat Alley • White Oak • Halls Hill • Canney Hill (500 ft section) • Mountain • Crystal Lake • Cogswell
We truly appreciate your patience during these improvements. Please drive safely in work zones—your caution keeps our crews and subcontractors safe while they rebuild and strengthen our town’s infrastructure.
