Summer Youth program (The Park)

Summer Youth program (The Park) "The Park" The Park will not be reopening for the foreseeable future. The park has been a huge part of Upshur country for 25yrs.

Located in Gilmer Texas to the right of the Civic Center and Wal-Mart, just before you get to Gilmer Elementary School. It is funded by the Upshur County Chamber of Commerce and the fee of $2 a family a day. Myra Ritter has and continues to be the life and the manager of the park. Over the past couple of years Meri Reid has been second in command. Together Mrs Ritter, and Mrs Reid share their pass

ion, kindness, and creativity with the children of Upshur County. Every Summer, for 6 weeks, kids look forward to an hour of "free play", four square, coloring, board games, fun food, educational activities, arts and crafts, various sports, nature walks, and more.
