Large absorbent pigs added to a coffin cabinet ✅
Large and small tripod and equipment loaded in coffin bin ✅

The work continues to get the Rescue Company ready for service! Shout out to our volunteers for their dedication and hard work!

The Engine Company responding to a working residential fire in Lavelle earlier this evening! Engine 45-10 assisted with suppression, primary search, overhaul, and ventilation until being released by Chief 4-2.

To our parents and caregivers of our Scouts, Welcome Back Night is this Sunday at the Rangers Hose Company, 6 East Ogden Street, Girardville.

If you are a new Scout or new to our Pack, your program begins at 5pm.

If you are a returning Scout for Pack 749 this year, your program begins at 6pm.

We encourage parents and caregivers to bring your Scout along as we have activities and snacks planned during the program! We can’t wait to see you all on Sunday!!!!

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS, DAMAGING WIND RISK THURSDAY

Thursday’s threat will be all-hazards, with damaging winds being the main concern. Very localized hail in the strongest cells is possible along with a tornado or two amidst decent wind shear. Storm timing will be late Thursday afternoon through just after sunset.

During the overnight, the Girardville Fire Department was out on the street again assisting EMS with lifting a patient and safely loading them into an ambulance.

The Girardville Fire Department responded to two separate incidents this past week in the Borough.

On 8/20/2026 crews were out to assist EMS with lifting a patient and getting them safely into their wheelchair.

On 8/21/2026 a smoke condition was found on Main Street by passing through police and originally dispatched as an “officers only” incident. Arriving fire officers found smoke coming from the side of a home on Preston Avenue and added an Engine from both stations to the incident. During the investigation, crews were able to determine the home owner had recently turned on his pellet stove and the call scaled back. Crews cleared approximately 20 mins after dispatch. Chief 45, Engine 45-10, and Engine 45-11 all responded.
