Glacier Fire & Rescue was recently awarded a $13,000 grant from the EMS Foundation of Whatcom County. 

The grant money helps us outfit our new aid unit and will improve communications and response in our remote eastern part of the county.

Glacier Fire & Rescue supports emergency medical response up the 542 corridor. And we work alongside great partners like the Mt. Baker Ski Area, Whatcom County Fire District 14 and Bellingham Mountain Rescue

We are incredibly thankful to the EMS Foundation of Whatcom County for their dedication to enhancing medical services and supporting first responders within the county.

Ever dreamed of owning a decommissioned ambulance?  🚑 🚑 🚑

Glacier Fire & Rescue is auctioning off a 2004 F350 XL ambulance with 15,000 miles.

The highest bidder at time of auction close will be notified within 72 hours of winning bid.

Thanks to everyone who came out on July 3rd and helped us kick off Fish & Chip’R Days!  What a turnout! Whether you dropped by for a quick bite or stayed to chat and learn more about being Firewise, your support is greatly appreciated.

We ate A LOT of fish & chips - special thank you to Paellaworks LLC who donated the food for the event.  We’re so proud of our Glacier community!

REMINDER: Every Saturday and Sunday in July – from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM – you can drop off brush, small trees, and other vegetation from your property at our collection site and we’ll take care of the chipping.

Tidying up your property to make it more defensible is one of the most effective ways to improve wildfire resilience in our community.  Whether you are cleaning up a few branches, or tackling a bigger project, every bit helps!

Reminder: Lots happening on Friday, July 3rd.

Our annual Safety Palooza event takes place from 8:00 AM to Noon.

In the evening, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, we're launching Fish & Chip'R Days, a month-long series of events for our community to help reduce wildfire risk. Of course we're kicking it off with a fish and chips feed!

Exciting announcement!

In additon to our annual community celebration on July 3rd, Glacier Fire is launching the inaugural "Fish & Chip’r Days" to help our neighbors reduce wildfire risk while keeping our community looking its best!

The idea is simple: spend some time cleaning up brush, small trees, and other vegetation around your home, then bring the material to our collection site and we'll take care of the chipping. Creating defensible space around homes is one of the most effective ways to improve wildfire resilience. If you are curious what your home needs, contact Glacier Fire and Rescue for a free home risk assessment. Whether you're cleaning up a few branches or tackling a larger defensible space project, every load helps make Glacier safer.

-Collection Site: 9186 Mt Baker Hwy (old County Transfer Station)

-Collection Times: Saturday and Sundays during July, 8am-12pm

This project is truly a community effort. We're partnering with local neighborhoods, businesses, the Washington DNR, and the Whatcom Conservation District to make it easier for residents to take action. The resulting wood chips will be available to community members upon request!

The event will kick off July 3 from 4-7pm at Station 96. Join us for food and more!

We encourage everyone to participate, meet your neighbors, and join us in protecting the place we all call home.
