Gladewater Fire Department Combination Fire Department - Protectors of Life and Property - Gladewater, TX

The Gladewater Fire Department is a "combination department" with a staff of paid firefighters and approximately volunteer firefighters. The department has different personnel certified in different fields, Arson Investigator, Fire Cause & Origin, Fire Inspector, Method of Teaching, with all full time employees certified through the Texas commission on Fire Protection. It is our desire to serve th

e taxpayers of this community to prevent the loss of life and property. The Fire Chief supervises the department Monday thru Friday, from 8-5 and is available during those hours. The Gladewater Fire Department's coverage area is approximately 85 square miles along with having mutual aid agreements with all neighboring departments to assist them in a time of need.

* At 308 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
7 miles northwest of Quitman to over Gilmer, or along a line from
13 miles north of Mineola to over Gilmer, moving south at 10 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
White Oak, Gladewater, Gilmer, Mineola, Quitman, Big Sandy,
Hawkins, Clarksville City, East Mountain, Rosewood, Hainesville,
Hoard, Pleasant Grove, West Mountain, Golden, Forest Hill, Alba,
Yantis and Union Grove.
Instruction: Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and
