🚨💧PLANNED WATER OUTAGE - AUGUST 13💧🚨

Residents in the affected areas should plan to be without water all day tomorrow, Thursday, August 13th, while crews switch water lines in preparation for the upcoming U.S. 271 road widening project.

Areas affected:
• Riverside Dr
• South U.S. 271 past the Sabine River bridge
• Sheppard Ln
• Carter Rd
• McKain
• McComick Rd
• Dorrough Rd

Please plan ahead and make arrangements for the water outage.

🚒 It’s been an exciting day at the Gladewater Fire Department!

Today, firefighter candidates completed the written examination and physical agility test as part of our hiring process for two full-time and five part-time firefighter positions.

We’re excited to see individuals step forward with the desire to serve our community and become part of the Gladewater Fire Department. We wish each of our candidates the very best as they move through the hiring process!

Firefighter Testing

Friday, August 7, 2026 | 8:00 a.m. | 511 S. Tyler Street, Gladewater, TX 75647

Applicants will take a TCFP-approved written examination covering general firefighter knowledge.

Those who successfully pass the written exam should be prepared to immediately complete the Physical Agility Test.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Must be at least 18 years of age
-Must possess TCFP Firefighter I & II and Structural Firefighter certifications
-Must have a clean driving record
-Must successfully pass a background check
