Tricia and Samantha are valuable staff members for the DDA and wanted to let you know that the DDA board now has 2 vacancies!

The Downtown Development Authority is responsible for helping guide the continued improvement, investment, and economic vitality of downtown Gladstone.

Board members help make decisions involving downtown infrastructure, public spaces, redevelopment, business support, beautification, events, placemaking, marketing, and other investments intended to strengthen downtown Gladstone.

Happy September, Gladstone! 🍂 Soon we will see Gladstone evolve for the season. Are you looking to play a larger role in shaping how Gladstone grows and develops?

There is 1 vacancy on the Planning Commission and we want you to join!

Commission members are heavily involved in reviewing and recommending updates to the City's Zoning Ordinance, helping ensure local regulations continue to evolve with the needs and goals of the community.

The Planning Commission also reviews site plans, zoning matters, development proposals, and other land-use decisions that can have a lasting impact on Gladstone.

If you are interested in community development, housing, business growth, land use, neighborhoods, or the future physical development of Gladstone, the Planning Commission is a great opportunity to become directly involved.

Rockin' For Bay Music Festival has been setting up Downtown Gladstone, and we can feel the excitement!

The fundraiser will run throughout the day on Saturday in the Market Square and the parking lot next to Wally's Bar. Entry into the main stage area is $20 and tickets are available onsite and online.

We are proud to be the host location for such an impactful event for Bay College Athletics and hope you stop downtown to support the cause!

Local musicians take the stage from 3-6 PM all season long while you shop fresh produce, artisan bakery, wellness products, and handcrafted goods.

The Dew Drop owner, Amanda, has been an active member of our community helping through countless of benefits, raffles, and events. Now it’s time for the community to show up and rally behind them for some delicious food and $8 specials all day long!

Below is an overview of the business scheduled for discussion:
- MDOT Contract for South Hill Road
- Special Event Request
- Michigan Municipal League Voting Delegate & Alternate
- Resignation of a Planning Commissioner
- Offer to Purchase City Owned Property in Escanaba Township
- Zoning Ordinance Introduction for Rezoning of Property

A report will also be provided on the year to date financial reports. City Commission meetings are open to the public, and community members are welcome to attend.

Week after week, the market square comes to life for the Gladstone Farmers Market. This upcoming Monday, August 24 is a special U.P. inspired market celebrating our authentic market offerings.

From locally grown produce, artisan bakery, to handmade one-of-a-kind gifts, get a taste of the U.P. from 25 local small business owners.

The market runs every Monday from 3-6 PM.
