Chess anyone? Students in Mrs. Connors' Summer SAGE class learn how to play chess and develop critical thinking skills. They're putting it all together, challenging their peers to round of chess.

Challenge accepted! Our students are diving into Summer SAGE and Young Scholars challenges with imagination, critical thinking, and determination. They're brainstorming bold ideas, testing and failing, and trying again!

SAGE students had a great time in their “Science You Can Eat" class this week! Mrs. Duffett taught about several scientific principles such as agents that cause baked goods to rise and how we can drop the freezing point of water. Our scientists were very busy!

Students in Mrs. Poole's summer school class learned about the historical, cultural, cognitive, and emotional impact of games. They played a variety of games from different times and cultures. They also designed their own 3D printed ball maze.

This week in Ms. Connors' class, students explored sketch comedy. SAGE students used collaboration, creativity, and humor as they brainstormed ideas, wrote scripts, created props, and performed for their peers on the final day. They also learned the game of chess, with experienced players helping teach and mentor novice players on strategy and gameplay.

It was a fantastic week filled with teamwork, creativity, and learning!
