There’s still room to join our upcoming memoir workshop at the Gladstone Community Center!

Crafting Life Stories: A Memoir Workshop is a 9-week class designed for anyone who wants to preserve memories, strengthen their writing, and connect with others through the power of storytelling.

The class will be led by local writer and educator Liz Danek, who has taught high school English and adult education in Los Angeles, Munich, Germany, and Portland. Her essays and fiction have appeared in The Writer’s Workshop Review, Mid-American Review, the Los Angeles Times, and Flash Nonfiction Food, and she has also performed for Liars' League PDX.

Whether you’ve been writing for years or have simply thought, “I should really write these stories down someday,” this is a wonderful place to start.

Tuesdays, September 29 – November 24

Parenting is hard — and sometimes you just need a few new tools in your toolbox!

Join us at the Gladstone Community Center for Parenting the Love and Logic Way®, a six-session class designed to give parents practical skills they can start using right away.

Throughout the class, you’ll learn ways to:
• Stay calm when your kids are doing incredibly upsetting things
• Set enforceable limits
• Avoid enabling and begin empowering
• Help kids learn from their mistakes
• Raise kids who contribute as family members
• Avoid those exhausting power struggles and arguments

Classes are Tuesdays, October 6 through November 10
5:30–6:30 p.m.

We have some beautiful pieces in right now, including heavy vintage crystal, etched glassware, vintage salt and pepper shakers, and so much more — all at really low prices.

If you love finding unique vintage pieces, household treasures, or just enjoy a good bargain, come by and take a look. You never know what you might find!

And don’t forget — if you have gently used household items you’re ready to part with, we gladly accept donations here at the Community Center.

The Gladstone Community Center will be celebrating couples who have reached 50 years of marriage on Friday, October 9 from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Brought to you by the Gladstone Seniors Foundation!

If you or someone you know is celebrating 50 years of marriage, please call the Community Center to RSVP.

Already RSVP’d? If you haven’t yet submitted your wedding date or a wedding photo, please give us a call or stop by the Center so we can include it in the celebration.

🎨 Youth & Beginner Art Class is coming to the Gladstone Community Center!

Starting Thursday, September 17, join talented instructor Jean for a 10-week art class designed for youth and beginners. Jean has been creating art for more than 60 years and will guide students through a variety of fun, hands-on projects.
