Gladwin County Communities That Care Gladwin County Community That Cares meets the first Wednesday of every month in the Community Education Room at Mid Michigan Medical Center.

Gladwin County Communities That Care (CTC) is a delinquency and violence prevention planning model that helps the community to mobilize, identify risk and preventive factors and develop a comprehensive prevention plan. All community members are welcome to attend. Our vision is to empowerour citizens to actively contribute to a vibrant community of caring, healthy, safe, and supportive people.

Homes and pharmacies in Northern Michigan have been broken into by people looking for medications, not money, and police officers are going out on more calls related to PD abuse than ever in the past. Unfortunately, some of those thefts are coming from within our own family. Of teens that are abusing PD’s, 70% of them are getting them from friends and family.

Over the past several months community members have been working diligently to increase community awareness about social hosting. Part of this campaign included billboards throughout Gladwin County. If you see a billboard with the Gladwin County Communities That Care logo (profile picture) on it throughout Gladwin, take a picture of the billboard and post the image to our page. Posting this image, sharing our page, and liking our page will get you enter into a drawing for, 4 waterpark passes to Soaring Eagle Waterpark and a gas card to help cover travel expenses (Valued up to $150).

Our next Community Board meeting is November 20th from 8:30am tp 9:30am in the education room at Mid Michigan Health. This meeting is open to the public and we welcome everyone to come.
