***Press Release***

On Monday, March 23, 2026 at approximately 4:40pm Deputies from the Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office were called to investigate a personal injury accident involving three vehicles at the intersection of W. Howard Rd. and S. River Rd., Buckeye Township.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined a 2001 Buick Lesabre being operated by an (86) year old female from Beaverton was traveling southbound on S. River Rd.. This vehicle disregarded the stop sign for southbound traffic and collided with a 2018 Ford F-250 Pickup Truck traveling westbound on W. Howard Rd. The pickup truck was being driven by a (23) year old male, also from Beaverton. The impact caused the pickup to lose control and collide with a 2017 Buick Encore preparing to turn north on S. River Rd. from W. Howard Rd.. Sadly, life saving measures were unsuccessful and the driver of the Buick Encore, (42) year old, Aaron B. Eagleson of Beaverton, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The male operating the pickup and the female operating the Buick Lesabre were transported by ambulance to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection where the crash occurred was shut down for several hours while the Accident Reconstructionist from the Michigan State Police were on scene. The Gladwin County Sheriff’s Office was also assisted by the Gladwin Fire Department and medical professionals from My-Michigan Ambulance Service.

Alcohol may be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation. Reports will be forwarded to the Gladwin County Prosecutor’s Office for potential criminal charges.

The Gladwin County Sheriff's Office expresses heartfelt condolences to the family and would like to remind people to refrain from posting derogatory comments on social media platforms pertaining to this tragic loss of life.
