It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend and longtime supporter, Ed Schrock. A legendary track builder and tireless promoter of tractor pulling in Virginia, Ed was a vital part of the Dragon Motorsports family and a driving force behind some of the sport’s most memorable events.
Ed now joins his beloved brother, Paul Schrock, who passed away this past November. Together, the Schrock brothers were pillars of the pulling community for decades, particularly through their work with Central Virginia Pullers and their passion for antique pulling. Their dedication and love for the sport were unmatched and left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure to know them.
Ed was also instrumental in bringing the Dragon Motorsports show to Gladys, hosting events on his family’s land at Schrock’s Farm. He once proudly said, "I need that Dragon logo on there so people know they are going to see some big time power under the lights." That spirit and vision helped elevate the Gladys Truck and Tractor Pull into a premier event on the pulling calendar.
In recent years, Ed had been facing significant health challenges and was seldom seen, even at the events he helped build. Despite his absence, his legacy lived on in every detail of the shows he helped shape.
Dragon Motorsports and WWPTV extend our heartfelt condolences to Ed’s family, friends, and the entire pulling community. We are forever grateful for his contributions, leadership, and friendship.
In tribute to both Paul and Ed, the Gladys Truck and Tractor Pull will go on as planned on June 7th at 6:00 PM. We invite all to come out—not only to enjoy the roar of the machines—but to celebrate the life of the men who made it all possible.
Rest in peace, Ed. Your tracks may fade, but your legacy never will.
