Old Bowling Green Road near Beckton Rocky Hill Road has reopened and is now open to normal traffic.

Old Bowling Green Road is currently closed near Beckton Rocky Hill Road due to a semi truck blocking the roadway.
Please avoid the area and use an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared. If you must travel nearby, expect delays and follow the directions of emergency personnel.

📚🚍 Back-to-School Safety Reminder 🚍📚
As the new school year begins on August 12, the Barren County Sheriff's Office hopes all of our students have had a safe and fun summer. We wish everyone a successful school year and ask for the community's help in making the transition back to school as safe as possible.
Please consider leaving a few minutes earlier for your morning and afternoon commute, as traffic will increase with school buses and families traveling to and from school.
As you travel throughout the county:
• 🛑 Be alert for children walking to and from bus stops.
• 🚌 Watch for school buses loading and unloading students, and always obey Kentucky's school bus stopping laws.
• 🚸 Slow down in school zones and avoid distractions while driving.
• ⏰ Allow yourself extra time and be patient during the first few weeks of school.
By working together, we can help ensure every student arrives at school and returns home safely each day.
Let's make this a safe and successful school year for all of Barren County's students!

The Barren County Sheriff's Office is sharing the following Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Most Wanted Alert to help spread awareness.
Jesse Wayne Phillips is wanted in Tennessee for Second Degree Murder and is believed to be armed and dangerous.
If you have information regarding his whereabouts or believe you have seen him in Barren County, do not approach him. Please contact the Barren County Sheriff's Office at (270) 651-2771 or call 911 immediately.
We encourage everyone to share this post to help the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation locate this wanted individual safely!

UPDATE: LOCATED SAFE

Kyndual Murphy has been located and is safe.

🚨 MISSING JUVENILE 🚨
The Barren County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's assistance in locating Kyndual Murphy, a 15-year-old female.
Kyndual was last seen at approximately 6:00 PM on July 4 at 1444 Oak Hill School Road while attending a Fourth of July cookout.
She was reportedly last seen getting into a black pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra, with dark tinted windows and a lift kit. She is believed to be accompanied by an unknown white male, possibly in his 20s.
If you have seen Kyndual, the vehicle described, or have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the Barren County Sheriff's Office at (270) 651-2771. After normal business hours, please call Dispatch at (270) 651-5151 or dial 911 if the information is urgent.
Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could be critical.

🚨 Internet Safety Reminder for Parents & Guardians 🚨

The Barren County Sheriff's Office would like to remind parents and guardians to stay aware of your children's online activities during summer break.
Unfortunately, internet predators are well aware that school is out for the summer. They often take advantage of increased screen time and the fact that many parents and guardians are at work or otherwise occupied.
Please take time to:
Know which apps, games, and websites your children are using.
Talk with them about online safety and the dangers of communicating with strangers.
Review privacy settings and parental controls on devices.
Encourage them to tell a trusted adult if anyone online makes them feel uncomfortable or asks for personal information.
A few simple conversations and regular monitoring can go a long way in helping keep our children safe.
If you suspect suspicious online activity involving a child, please contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.
Working together, we can help protect our children both online and in our community.

The roadway at Old Bowling Green Road and the Outer Loop intersection near the Exit/Entry 8 ramps of the Cumberland Parkway has been reopened to normal traffic.

⚠️ Traffic Alert – Road Closure ⚠️ A small portion of the roadway at Old Bowling Green Road and the Outer Loop intersection near the Exit/Entry 8 ramps of the Cumberland Parkway will be closed for an undetermined amount of time due to a single-vehicle accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer. One occupant was transported to TJ Health with suspected injuries. Please use caution in the area and seek an alternate route if possible while emergency personnel work on the scene. Updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Please use caution while traveling in the area of Edmonton Road and New Bowling Green Road (US 68-80). The 400 Mile Yard Sale is taking place June 4–7, and increased traffic, pedestrians, and vehicles entering and exiting roadways can be expected.

Please allow extra travel time, stay alert, and watch for shoppers and vendors along the roadway.
