Squad 26 handled multiple incidents during the overnight hours into this morning throughout the Borough of Glassboro and surrounding jurisdictions.
Just before 5am, neighboring departments were operating at a working apartment fire in the Borough of Pitman. Squad 26 was handling a separate incident in the Borough of Glassboro at that time. Once the Squad cleared that incident, they were advised to stage in a centralized location to cover the surrounding towns until they cleared the apartment fire in Pitman.
Shortly before 6am while staging, Washington Township Fire Department was dispatched for a fire alarm. Squad 26 advised Battalion 10 of their close location to the incident, and were advised to respond. Squad 26 arrived moments later to find smoke showing from the building. The Squad’s crew immediately stretched an attack line, and gained access into the building to find a small fire that was contained by the building’s fire suppression system. The remaining fire was quickly extinguished.
