We are still getting told there is scammers about the 2026 Glen Alpine Fall Festival. For info for the festival please only contact the fire dept page. Also the only people that would reach out would be Justin Taylor, Brian Deaton or Adam Marlowe.

We have been made aware of some scammers, trying to scam people out of their money for the festival. Please note the only way to participate in this year’s fall festival is to deal with us directly either at Townhall or messaging the glen alpine fire dept page.

If you have been contacted by either of the two people you see in the screenshots please reach out and let us know. Thanks!

Burke County Burn Ban
Local Burn Ban Status - In Effect
Statewide Burn Ban Status - In Effect

🚨A common misconception is that a Burn Ban is lifted when it rains. This is false. Rain, regardless of how much, does not automatically lift or cancel out a Burn Ban. Please check reliable sources before resuming open burning activities.

⚠️The Local Burn Ban that was issued for Burke County for all open burning on March 28, 2026, at 6:00 PM, remains in effect until further notice. The Burke County Local Burn Ban is concurrent with the NC Forest Service Statewide Burn Ban.

✅Please postpone any open burning until atmospheric conditions improve. Citations are being issued for Burn Ban violations.

✅Let’s all do our part to keep our communities safe from fire!

🚫🔥 Statewide Burn Ban in Effect at 6pm Today!

⚠️Do not burn outdoors in North Carolina. Conditions statewide will allow for rapid fire growth and spread.

Due to increased wildfire risk, the N.C. Forest Service has issued a ban on all open burning and has canceled all burning permits statewide effective 6 p.m. Saturday, March 28 until further notice.

Under North Carolina law, the ban prohibits all open burning in the affected counties, regardless of whether a permit was previously issued. The issuance of any new permits has also been suspended until the ban is lifted. Anyone violating the burn ban faces a $100 fine plus $183 court costs. Any person responsible for setting a fire may be liable for any expenses related to extinguishing the fire.

The burn ban does not apply to fires started within 100 feet of an occupied dwelling. The local fire marshal has authority to issue a burn ban within those 100 feet.
