Glen Arbor Township Notice of Election Commission Meeting

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Glen Arbor Township Election Commission is holding a meeting on July 13, 2026 at 11:00 AM to appoint Inspectors and Chairpersons for the August 4, 2026 State Primary Election. The meeting will be held at the Glen Arbor Township meeting room, 6394 W. Western Ave., Glen Arbor, Michigan.

UPDATE - The NMC Concert Band will play in the Glen Arbor Park as usual.

In case of rain, the NMC Concert Band's Patriotic Music Concert to be held at the park on Friday July 3 at 7:30 will be held in Town Hall.

NMC and Glen Arbor Township are watching the unstable weather pattern and will make a decision as the date nears.

4TH OF JULY BOAT PARADE

The 2026 version of the Annual 4th of July Boat Parade is a go! No need to register or RSVP - just show up. Meet on the water at 3 pm in front of Glen Lake Yacht Club. Whoever gets there first or is so inclined can be the leader! We head towards the Narrows, go under the bridge and out towards the boat ramp, then head back under the bridge. After that, it's anyone's guess. Those who want to keep the parade going can circle the lake. Boat decorations are optional but highly encouraged, so get that red, white, and blue swag out!

4th of July week in Glen Arbor

On Friday, July 3rd at 7:30pm, the NMC Concert Band will again honor America with patriotic music and many musical favorites at the Glen Arbor Township Park. Bring your own chair and a wide brim hat for sun protection. The Northwestern Michigan College Concert Band is an adult musical organization supported by the College and made up of members of the community and NMC students. It will be a fantastic evening!

Our annual parade is open to anyone who wants to celebrate the founding of our great country on its birthday. Parade vehicles will gather in Glen Haven early Saturday morning at 10:00am and will proceed towards Glen Arbor at noon. Walkers are asked not to join the parade until the last vehicle passes the Christian Science Church. Many stretches are very crowded. Please keep children away from entering the street and follow the guidance from the “broom crew” which is comprised of many volunteers who “broom” candy from the street.

On Sunday morning, July 5th, from 8:00am til noon, the finest firefighters and paramedics will serve the most delicious pancake breakfast ever at the Glen Arbor Township Hall. Proceeds from the annual pancake breakfast will defray the costs of sending our Glen Lake firefighters to paramedic school and other training opportunities.

The Glen Lake Fire Department and River Club Glen Arbor announced today their first annual community building and fund-raising event: Drinks, Putts & Fire Trucks. Taking place Wednesday, June 17 from 4 to 8pm at River Club. The event will be a celebration of the massive contribution the Glen Lake Fire Department makes to the greater Leelanau County region.
