Volunteer opportunity!

The Glen Lake Community Library is seeking a Glen Arbor Township resident to fill a vacancy on its Board of Trustees. This position is a one-year term, beginning July 1 through June 30, 2027.

The trustees set policies regarding the use of the library and engage in planning for the library. The board meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Glen Lake Garden Club will be planting a Red Maple tree in the grove behind the Glen Arbor Town Hall this Saturday, May 9 at 11:30 am. The GLGC plants this tree as a living tribute to the dedication, stewardship, and shared love of nature that brings our community together.

This follows earlier Arbor Day Celebrations which begin at the Cherry Republic at 10 am and are hosted by the Glen Arbor Beautification Committee/ Chamber of Commerce. The Arbor Day Celebrations are to recognize Glen Arbor’s first year as being named a Tree City USA.

The GA community are invited to both sessions.

SPECIAL BOARD MEETING NOTICE
May 4, 2026 10:00 AM

Purpose of the meeting:
To adopt resolution #11-2026 to allow for an interfund transfer of funds from the General Fund to the Emergency fund to cover the renovation project and Glen Lake Fire Department’s fire station #1 which is owned by Glen Arbor Township.

The Glen Arbor Township Board, located at 6394 W. Western Ave., Glen Arbor, Michigan, 49636 will be conducting a Special Board Meeting at 10:00 a.m. on May 4, 2026.

If you would like to submit written comments to be read into the meeting, you may submit them to the Township Clerk at [email protected]. Written comments should be submitted on or before 5:00 p.m. on May 3, 2026.

Public comment will be provided at the start and end of the board discussion portion of the meeting. If any person wishes to speak during public comment, they should indicate by stating so when the chair calls for public comment. Any person may also contact any of the township board members with their comments. Public comment rules adopted by the Township Board apply and comments should remain within 3 minutes. Individuals are not required to identify themselves to participate in the meeting but will be required to identify themselves prior to speaking.

To interview four candidates for the position of Township Zoning Administrator. Each candidate will have 1 hour with a 15 minutes break between candidates. Board discussion will follow the interviews at 3:00 p.m.

We want to be crystal clear about this.

DO NOT Venture out on the Ice. NO ICE IS SAFE ICE.

Congratulations to Deputy Clerk Michele Aucello for submitting the winning entry to the Par Plan photo contest. Glen Arbor Township will be presented with a canvas print of the image at the February 17th Board meeting.
