In 2012, Jack London Park Partners was the first non-profit organization to take up management of a state park on behalf of the people of California. JACK LONDON STATE HISTORIC PARK - Information Updated for Covid-19. Open 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. The Museum, cottage, historic area, trails, picnic tables and restrooms are available for use. We are now able to lead private and public group tours. Park visitors must comply with social distancing, hygiene and face covering requirements.

Before the famous books, the ranch, and the world travel, Jack London was already collecting stories.

As a teenager, he sailed the Razzle Dazzle as an oyster pirate on San Francisco Bay. Not long afterward, he switched sides and joined the California Fish Patrol, enforcing the laws he had once broken.

Those early adventures on the Bay would later become material for his writing, including Tales of the Fish Patrol.

Wolf House was designed to be impressive and remarkably modern for its time.

Twenty-six rooms, nine fireplaces, electric lighting, refrigeration, even a built-in vacuum system were included in the plans for Jack London’s 15,000-square-foot dream home.

The house was nearly complete when it burned in 1913. Today, its stone ruins remain one of the most striking places to explore at Jack London State Historic Park.

Join us on Saturday, September 5 for a FREE guided hike through the forest at Jack London State Historic Park. We will begin by exploring the abandoned Sonoma Developmental Center grounds, then head through the hilly landscape toward Fern Lake; we will walk to the Orchard area and return by circling the lake. This hike is ideal for those who enjoy nature, fresh air, and peaceful forest views.

What if we told you that some of the hardest workers at Jack London State Historic Park have feathers, fur, or six legs? This Labor Day, join a naturalist-led exploration of the remarkable work happening throughout the landscape at Jack London State Historic Park.

From nature’s architects and engineers to recyclers, pollinators, and cleanup crews, wildlife is constantly working behind the scenes to keep the ecosystem thriving. Along the way, we’ll also explore the important work people do to care for this special place. There is an extraordinary amount of activity happening in nature, much of it just beyond our notice. This family-friendly program invites participants to slow down, look more closely, and discover the many ways wildlife and people contribute to a healthy landscape.
