On your mark…get set…glow! 🌟 Join us for the 2K Glow Run/Walk, a 1.25-mile race featuring light-up color stations along the way! New this year, the 2K is teaming up with Glow in the Park and will kick off at Lake Ellyn Park right after the lantern walk. Glow sticks and a t-shirt are included with your registration!

Support a great cause and get creative at the Glow in the Park Lantern Walk on Friday, September 11, from 5 to 9 pm at Lake Ellyn Park! Bring the whole family for an unforgettable evening supporting the NICU at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
🎶 Live music by Tres Moustache!
🎨 Face painting and inflatables
✨ Glow fitness activities
🦸 Costumed characters
🌭 Heavenly Hot Dogs available for purchase
🍧 Kona Ice available for purchase
🏮 7:20 pm: Lantern walk around Lake Ellyn
🏃 7:45 pm: 2K Glow Run/Walk

LANTERN KITS:
Grab a lantern kit for just $15 and decorate it ahead of the walk! Kits are available at Main Street Recreation Center through September 4, with a limited number available at the event. All proceeds benefit the Lurie Children’s Hospital NICU.

ADMISSION:
Entry to Glow in the Park is FREE, though cash donations to support the NICU are greatly appreciated! Registration for the 2K is available online at https://bit.ly/4ukM1pD or on-site at the event; fees apply.

Curious about Aerial Fitness? Join us at Ackerman SFC tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, for a FREE drop-in event! Stop by the Multipurpose Room or Cycle Studio anytime between 6 am and 6:30 pm. Our staff will walk you through a quick 5-minute demonstration, and then you'll have the chance to try out the aerial hammocks and hoops for yourself.

A season worth celebrating! ⚽🏆👏 At last night's meeting, the Park Board recognized the Glen Ellyn Lakers FC 2013 Girls Elite team for a historic run at the US National Cup Finals in Commerce City, Colorado.

Led by Head Coach Dante Espejo, the team finished as US National Runner-up and became the first Lakers FC team to reach a US Nationals final!

Congratulations to the players and coaches on this outstanding achievement, and thank you to the families, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this unforgettable season possible. We’re proud to celebrate this talented team and all they accomplished!

Pool Update 🏊‍♀️ The main pool will be closed this evening, Monday, August 17, for maintenance, including the diving boards and slides. The lap pool will be open from 5:30-7:30 pm, with two lanes designated for lap swim and two lanes for open swim. The wading pool will also remain open.

We tentatively expect the main pool to reopen tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
