Huge shoutout to the OHHS softball team for hosting their Military Appreciation Game tonight! 🥎

Amanda Hildebrand and her girls are always eager to host this game and do a spectacular job of honoring those who have served. Also, a big thanks to Chris Selvey and some of his JROTC students for presenting the colors at the game. It’s easy to love your job when you work in a community like this one!

Tatum seemed to enjoy himself too and made at least 15 new friends. 🤣

🚨Enlistment Alert🚨

So proud to recognize Averie Evans for taking such a big step and enlisting in the West Virginia Army National Guard! 🇺🇸

Averie is a junior in high school and already making moves toward her future by choosing the Split Training Option. She’ll be working as a 42A Human Resources Specialist, and I know she’s going to do amazing.

It is not easy juggling school and a commitment like this, but Averie is ready for it. She plans on going to college after high school and will get paid to get her college degree thanks to the WVARNG.

Everyone help me congratulate her on this huge accomplishment! 👏🇺🇸

Please join me in congratulating Skylar Bailey on her enlistment into the West Virginia Army National Guard! 🇺🇸

I first met Skylar at the Mountaineer Challenge Academy–South, where I had the opportunity to get to know her over the course of six months. Watching her growth and determination during that time was inspiring. After returning home, Skylar made the decision to take the next big step in her life by committing to serve her country.

She is incredibly deserving of this opportunity, and I have no doubt she is going to accomplish amazing things in the future. I’m proud to have been a small part of her journey.

Please help me congratulate Cadet Taylor on his enlistment into the West Virginia Army National Guard. 💪🏼

Despite the rigorous demands of being a student at Mountaineer Challenge Academy South, a quasi-military school, he has taken the initiative amongst all of his peers to join my team as a Cavalry Scout (19D). His sacrifices extend beyond the classroom walls, as he commits himself to serving a greater cause, embracing the call to serve his country and his community.

Cadet Taylor has definitely kept me on my toes throughout this process. His passion for the military is not merely a passing interest but a deep rooted commitment that fuels his every action. I am eager to gain new insights and perspectives to deepen my understanding of our shared mission from him.

Grateful to stand alongside the incredible Friends of Coal Ladies’ Auxiliary this Christmas. This experience has been a true example of what it means to serve not only in the WVARNG but also for the state of West Virginia and the communities within it. Their dedication shines brightly, and I'm proud to contribute as a member of the WV Army National Guard. 🎄🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

Also, a huge thank you to for his assistance yesterday! His embodiment of soldier excellence is remarkable and I look forward to seeing his growth within the next few years of his career.

got to hangout with cadet williams yesterday for an hour or so! this is my first year mentoring a cadet and she is such a sweet girl. i look forward to seeing her progression throughout the rest of her time at MCA and after graduation! please leave some kind words of encouragement and motivation down below. during my next visit, i will relay the message. 🥹🤍

Johnie has without a doubt been committed to the guard since before I even met him. This guy does not meet a stranger and will not accept defeat. His friends (and myself) know that he holds himself, as well as others, to a very high standard. I know for certain he will make a great leader in the WVARNG, and I am looking forward to the day I get to witness it myself. Welcome to the family, Johnie! 🇺🇸
