Last weekend I had the pleasure of joining residents, members of the Arts Council, and our talented artists for the unveiling of two beautiful new murals at the Glen Rock Community Pool.

It was an honor to represent Mayor Morieko and the Borough Council and offer remarks during the ceremony. The weather was beautiful, the pool was buzzing with excitement, and the murals are absolutely fantastic.

This project began with a vision from Michelle Keller and Heather Corey and became a reality through the dedication of the Arts Council, our talented artists, and many community volunteers. Their hard work has transformed the pool into an even more vibrant and welcoming space for residents of all ages.

Congratulations to Daniel Lee and Jessica Haas on their incredible work. Their creativity and talent are on full display, and their murals are a wonderful reflection of the community spirit that makes Glen Rock such a special place to call home.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life. I know these murals will be enjoyed by generations of Glen Rock families for many summers to come.

What a wonderful day celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Glen Rock Pride at Pride in the Park! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

As the Borough Council liaison to Glen Rock Pride, I could not be prouder of our Glen Rock Pride committee and volunteers who put together another outstanding event. Their hard work, passion, and commitment made today’s celebration truly special.

I am also thankful to my fellow elected officials who showed up to demonstrate their support. I am grateful to serve alongside Councilmembers Jill Orlich and Jon Hendl, whose commitment to inclusion helps make Glen Rock such a special place. It is always a pleasure to see Assemblymembers Lisa Swain and Chris Tully, who have long been great friends to Glen Rock. Thank you as well to Congressman Josh Gottheimer’s office for joining us and presenting Glen Rock Pride with a Certificate of Recognition.

We heard powerful and moving remarks from Mayor Morieko, Jane Clementi, and two incredible student speakers. Their messages about living authentically, being proud of who you are, and the importance of being an upstander and an ally resonated deeply and reminded us why Pride matters.

While a brief thunderstorm interrupted the outdoor festivities, it certainly did not dampen our spirits. Thank you to our first responders for their quick response and dedication to keeping everyone safe. The party moved briefly into Borough Hall, but before long, the sun was shining again and the celebration was back in full swing in what turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon,

It was wonderful to see so many local businesses, community organizations, and partners represented throughout the event. Their support helps make Glen Rock the welcoming and inclusive community we are proud to call home.

I am proud to live in a town that celebrates Pride loudly, enthusiastically, and unapologetically. The LGBTQIA+ community will always have my support.

This weekend, I’m excited to celebrate Glen Rock’s 10th Annual Pride in the Park!

Pride in the Park is a chance for our community to come together in support of our LGBTQIA+ neighbors, friends, family members, and allies while celebrating the values of inclusion, acceptance, and belonging that make Glen Rock such a special place.

Join us on June 7 for an afternoon of community, entertainment, activities, and connection. Whether you have attended every year or are joining us for the first time, everyone is welcome.

I’m grateful to the volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and members of Glen Rock Pride who work so hard to make this event possible each year. I hope to see you there as we celebrate love, diversity, and the vibrant spirit of our community.

Last night, Councilmember Jill Orlich and I had the pleasure of hosting Glen Rock’s annual Senior Resident Pool Party at the Glen Rock Municipal Pool.

We were thrilled to see such a great turnout and were fortunate to enjoy a beautiful evening with perfect weather, good food, music, and plenty of conversation. Most importantly, it was wonderful to spend time with so many of our senior residents, catch up with familiar faces, and welcome new ones.

These events are always a great opportunity to hear directly from our seniors about what matters most to them. We appreciated the valuable feedback, ideas, and perspectives that were shared and will continue working to ensure Glen Rock remains a welcoming and supportive community for residents of all ages.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the Borough staff and volunteers who helped make the evening such a success!

Readathon awards night is always one of my favorite nights as a councilmember. This year was extra special for me because I was able to announce the Coleman winners, including my own son! My apologies to my fellow Coleman councilmembers. 😉

Congratulations to all the winners! I am so proud of your reading and fundraising skills. I hope you all continue to enjoy a lifelong love of reading and giving back to your community. Thank you all for supporting the Glen Rock Library.
