One of the first signs of heat illness is muscle cramps, so if you start cramping up it's time to act:

— Get someplace cooler, stat ☃️
— Remove excess clothing 👋
— Drink a cool sports drink 🧃
— Avoid caffeine/alcohol 🚫🍸

Seek medical help if your cramps don't go away in an hour, you have heart problems, or you are on a low-sodium diet.

This exciting new program features several unique sessions—and one of the highlights is a special presentation from Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary.

🎩🎄The Glen Rock Christmas Decorations Are Getting a Meaningful Refresh! 🎩🎄

Since the 1980s, a small group of dedicated volunteers has helped decorate downtown with festive Christmas décor that brings holiday spirit to our community. These decorations have been enjoyed by thousands of visitors and residents over the generations—but after years in the sun and weather, they are beginning to show their age.

That’s why the Glen Rock Christmas Decoration Committee is launching a long-term effort to update and replace the downtown displays. This year, the project will begin with replacing seven pole decorations with a new “Caroler” design that reflects the heart of the holiday season in Glen Rock. From there, the committee will continue working year by year to gradually replace the remaining decorations until the entire collection has been refreshed.

If you’d like to support the effort, donations can be made to:
Glen Rock Christmas Decoration Committee
c/o Llewella M. Nicklow, Treasurer
34 Ridge Avenue
Glen Rock, PA 17327

The Christmas Decoration Committee is also looking to connect with local electricians who may be interested in assisting with wiring for the new decorations, as well as providing general electrical support for community holiday displays. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated and will help ensure everything is installed safely, reliably, and beautifully. Please reach out to Randy Smith at [email protected] if you are interested.

🚲🛴 Know Before You Ride! 🛴🚲

With warmer weather here, we’re seeing more bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, and other micromobility devices on our roadways and sidewalks. Before you ride, take a moment to review PennDOT’s PA Micromobility Information Sheet to understand what is and isn’t legal in Pennsylvania.

Some key reminders:
✅ E-bikes are permitted on roadways and in bike lanes when operated lawfully.
✅ Bicycles must have proper lighting when operated between sunset and sunrise.
⚠️ Electric scooters cannot be legally operated on public roadways and may only be used on private property.
⚠️ Different devices have different requirements for licensing, registration, helmets, and passenger use.

Whether you’re riding for fun, transportation, or exercise, knowing the law helps keep everyone safe.

Please review the chart below and share it with family and friends who ride.
