Leadership, service, and teamwork were at the forefront for Apollo High School NJROTC cadets who took part in the Glendale Police Department’s Youth Leadership Academy.
The week-long experience introduced cadets to law enforcement careers through interactive activities, demonstrations, and opportunities to learn directly from Glendale Police Officers. Beyond gaining a closer look at public safety, the cadets developed skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and leadership.
Experiences like this help GUHSD students explore career pathways while building the confidence and skills needed to make a positive impact in their communities.
Another Throwback Thursday to June 8–12, 2026, when seven Apollo High School NJROTC cadets participated in the Glendale Police Department Youth Leadership Academy. Throughout the week, the cadets gained a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement operations and learned about the many roles within the department.
They participated in hands-on activities, demonstrations, and experiences that provided valuable insight into the daily responsibilities of law enforcement officers. The academy also gave the cadets the opportunity to interact with and build positive relationships with Glendale Police Officers.
Through these experiences, AHS cadets strengthened their leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. Overall, the academy provided the cadets with a meaningful experience that helped them better understand law enforcement and community service.
