WESD Safety & Mentoring The Safety and Mentoring Department is also highly involved in the 7 Anchors Mentoring Program, providing additional support and guidance to WESD students.

The mission of the Safety and Mentoring Department is to assist District administrators and staff in maintaining a safe and secure environment conducive to teaching and learning by enforcing Governing Board policies, department regulations and Arizona State statutes, when applicable. The department implements the Be Cool, Come to School program, an incentive-based truancy campaign aimed at improvi

ng school attendance. Additionally, the department works to train employees regarding safe work-place practices, including crisis preparedness.
