Learn about endangered species with an illustrated storybook with live animal meet-and-greets to take participants on a cross-disciplinary journey through the sea. Registration is not required. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket if you have one!
In the case of storms or heavy rain, the show will be moved to the North Shore Library Community Room, with a limit of 35 attendees (first come, first serve). If weather requires a move to the library, the announcement will be made on the library’s website.

Join us next Monday July 11th at 6:00p.m. for a presentation about America’s Hidden Family: Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings.
Presenter Richard Kane will explain how the Jefferson-Hemings relationship began and how efforts were made to keep it hidden. He’ll uncover the DNA and other circumstantial evidence supporting the existence of the relationship, and how attempts were made to expose the relationship that historians chose to ignore. Kane will also address the controversy of how Jefferson, who wrote that all men are created equal, could justify his ownership of slaves.

Bayside Development Partners II, developer of an $84 million mixed-use development at Brown Deer and Port Washington roads has pledged to include the new North Shore Library in the project. Join us in two weeks (Monday, July 11th) at 6:00p.m. for a presentation about America’s Hidden Family: Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings.
For nearly two centuries, historians refused to believe that Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings had a relationship in which Jefferson fathered Sally’s children. DNA testing in the 1990s and strong circumstantial evidence changed that belief. Presenter Richard Kane will explain how the Jefferson-Hemings relationship began and how efforts were made to keep it hidden.

The North Shore Library was founded as the Fox Point-Bayside Library in 1979 in 5,000 square feet of leased space in the Stormonth School in Fox Point and has grown and moved since then and now also serves Glendale and River Hills. We were sad to miss last week’s trivia—will there be more? My girl would LOVE to do some trivia!
Is the Library remaining open? I just tried to return a book I checked out from NS Library at the WFB Library only to find that they are closed until early April and that I cannot return a NSL book to them. They are extending due dates until they are open again. Any info would be appreciated.
Don't bother going to any of the Milwaukee County Library system locations if you got to use a computer.... either they limit the number of computers (3 of 8 computers) being used to practice "social distancing" and have to wait or have you drive to the East Side. No notice on their website's homepage... or no obvious announcement on location.... and a very lame sorry for inconvenience apology too. I am in Healthcare and I doubt they take the same universal precautions at all of their workstations patron use anyways.... guess it's best buy for a computer and time to ditch the library system for poor communication and service...

We are trying to find a copy of Hero Cats: Midnight Over Stellar City—we can’t find it in your system, and couldn’t find a contact option or request for the system to purchase a text. What’s the best way to do this digitally (we will certainly ask staff next time we drop in, if we can remember!)?
