The Arizona Sports & Events Alliance, in partnership with TKO Group Holdings, has officially announced a first-of-its-kind, three-year partnership that will bring nine premier TKO events to Glendale, including UFC, WWE, and PBR.

This landmark agreement represents one of the most significant sports and entertainment partnerships secured for our community in recent years, further strengthening Glendale’s reputation as a premier destination for major events that drive tourism, economic impact, and unforgettable experiences.

It's a great morning for a groundbreaking in Glendale! Maricopa County Animal Care & Control officially broke ground on its newest West Valley facility at 10139 W. Northern Ave.

This investment will expand capacity, enhance resources, and improve response times for animals in need throughout the region. The new facility represents an important step forward in supporting animal welfare while serving the growing West Valley community.

New facility features:

🐾600+ kennels and 18 play yards
🐾Low-stimulation housing and play yards for shy and fearful dogs
🐾Grooming room and photo studios for pet portraits
🐾Community room for outreach events and meetings
🐾Natural walking path along New River

The Office of Arts & Culture, a division of Economic Development, visited six Glendale Elementary School District No 40 schools to announce the winners of the district-wide America250 Essay Contest for local fifth-grade students in celebration of America’s upcoming 250th birthday.

Councilmembers representing each school district attended the presentations, recognizing students with certificates and gift cards for their achievements. The city-wide grand prize winner will receive a certificate signed by the mayor, a $50 gift card, a family four-pack to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, and the opportunity to read their essay during the Downtown Glendale America250 Celebration on June 20.
