For two decades, Tamar Sadd has been proudly serving the community. Today, she’s departing the City of Glendale and her role as the Deputy Director of the Community Development Department for the Administration and
Neighborhood Services divisions to start a new chapter. As deputy director, she led the annual preparation of the department’s budget, oversaw its contracts, and managed the City’s code enforcement and licensing operations. She previously also led economic
development initiatives and played a prominent role in promoting Glendale through the award-winning “On The Move” TV show and “Meet Me on Brand” campaign. During her time with the City, Tamar has been a force for change, leading successful teams and having
a positive impact on Glendale and its residents and businesses. Tamar, your friends and colleagues at the City will miss you, and we wish you continued success!

Do you have an eviction notice? Are you behind on rent?

Our friends at Door of Hope have a homelessness prevention program that helps Los Angeles County families.

Door of Hope can help address immediate financial crisis, prevent eviction, and provide resources in financial literacy, career development, and paraprofessional counseling.

Help can take the form of up to two months of rental assistance, case management, or utility assistance.

You are eligible if you reside in Los Angeles County; have at least one child 18 years of age or younger; provide an eviction notice (3-day or 30-day notice); experienced loss of income due to work hours being reduced, sudden medical injury, etc.; and earn less than 50% of the Average Median Income as a household annually.

If you have questions or you’re interested in applying, please contact [email protected] or call (626) 808-5168. Apply at DoorofHope.us/Prevention.

In his seven years with the City of Glendale, Bradley Calvert helped to build community. With his time as the City’s community development director ending this week, the team he led with courage, humility, and truth would like to say thank you for your leadership and your service to the Glendale community.

Both as the director since 2022, and the department’s assistant director prior to that, Bradley made significant contributions to building community in Glendale.

He launched an online permitting system, developed the City’s first Economic Development Strategic Plan, launched a City-led magazine that profiles arts, culture, and small businesses in Glendale, initiated or completed the construction of over 700 units of affordable housing, reduced permitting timelines by upwards of 40%, and led an overhaul of process and code changes to simplify the permitting process. Additionally, through his leadership, the department absorbed the City’s homeless services division to pursue greater efficiency and a more comprehensive approach to housing and affordability challenges.

As assistant director, he led the overhaul of the Downtown Specific Plan, adoption of the Citywide Pedestrian Plan, and launch of the Verdugo Wash initiative.

Bradley, we wish you well and continued success. Your friends and colleagues at the Glendale Community Development Department will miss you!
