Help identifying suspect, Case 20-12219
An observant Glendale resident noticed a mother duck was in distress on Tuesday morning and called our dispatch center for some help. With the help of a City of Glendale DPW worker, and the quick response of our officers, 7 baby ducklings were rescued from the sewer drain and reunited with their mother.
Nice work by all on the “quack recovery”! Here are some squad videos of the incident.

This week we wrapped up our Citizen’s Police Academy for this year. We had 10 residents take part in a 9-week program where they learned about topics like Use of Force, Computer Forensics and Technology in Policing, our School Resource Program, Vehicle Pursuits, Drug Investigations, Evidence Processing, Less Lethal Options and also just getting a behind the scenes look at the Glendale Police Department. It was a great group and we look forward to next years class!
This past Sunday, members of the Glendale Police Department had the pleasure of taking ten great kids from Parkway Elementary Parkway School out for our annual #ShopWithACop event. Each child was given $150 to spend, and encouraged to buy gifts not only for themselves, but for their siblings, parents, etc. We were accompanied by ten Kohl's associates who volunteered as well! After shopping we all went over to California Pizza Kitchen for an amazing lunch, activities and gift wrapping. It was a very rewarding day for all involved, which couldn’t have happened without our amazing community partners. #HappyHolidays to all!
