Crescenta Valley High School junior Spursh has turned his interest in artificial intelligence into an international accomplishment. Last July, at just 16 years old, he traveled to Seoul, South Korea, to present a paper he co-authored at an International Conference on Machine Learning workshop alongside university researchers and industry professionals. Last Friday, Horace Mann Elementary students received a special back-to-school surprise from Toyota of Glendale and the Kids In Need Foundation! Students received new backpacks filled with school supplies as part of the organizations’ continued support of our school community.

Congratulations to Leo from John Muir Elementary, who has been selected as a TIME for Kids Kid Reporter for the 2026–27 school year!

As part of the application process, Leo wrote an article exploring how AI is being introduced at his school and interviewed educators about the importance of writing, critical thinking, and communication.

After completing additional writing, research, interviews, and a video submission, Leo was officially selected as a Kid Reporter and will work with TIME editors on stories and interviews this year.

We’re so proud of Leo for his curiosity, thoughtful reporting, and strong student voice. Congratulations, Leo!

This spring, the One Glendale After School Youth Sports Program wrapped up another exciting soccer season, bringing students together through teamwork, skill-building, and sportsmanship.

From exciting championship and consolation matches to friendships formed on and off the field, the season was a celebration of growth, perseverance, and community.

Congratulations to all of our student-athletes, coaches, and families on a fantastic season. We look forward to another great year of One Glendale After School Youth Sports in the 2026-27 school year!
