After graduation, Abby plans to pursue a career in library science after spending a few years teaching abroad with the JET Programme. Her favorite thing about the library is the people she gets to interact with and, of course, the books.

Our staff are eager to help you! If you have any questions about how to use the library or how to get the information that you need, please reach out to us.

Meet our student workers! This is Katt Mayne, a sophomore transfer student. She is from Avondale, AZ, and has lived in Arizona her whole life. She is majoring in Child Development and minoring in Animation and Music. She hopes to be a child life specialist, eventually working abroad and pursuing her passions of art and music, even taking the opportunity to study new subjects whenever she can. Her favorite things about working at the library are the calming environment, her coworkers, and seeing familiar faces. She also loves how she has a variety of knowledge at her fingertips.

Save this post in case you need to brush up on media literacy later! Misinformation and disinformation are common online, especially on social media.

If you feel the urge to repost news found on social media, ask yourself three questions. First, how does this post make me feel? If it appeals strongly to your emotions, slow down and reflect on why it does. Second, does this post fit so neatly with my beliefs that I am not thinking critically about its content? Beware of confirmation bias. Third, what do mainstream news sources say? Confirm news stories by consulting a range of established news outlets. Be aware of media bias. The truth may be where reporting overlaps.

For a hilarious and memorable take on media literacy, check out the book "Killer Underwear Invasion! How to Spot Fake News, Disinformation & Conspiracy Theories" by Elise Gravel. Its call number is j 070.43 G775 at the ACU Library.

The paint crew is working on the west wing of the library! The window frames, metal beams, and fire-exit doors have been painted black to pop against the white walls. The wooden beams are being painted dark brown to give some color and connection with other campus buildings. We're eager to see how other windows will look as they remove the masking tape and plastic! We will soon have a refreshed outside study area!
