Today, we invite you to participate in the annual Fire District Elections on February 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Glendora Fire House.

As the Fire District, we are proud to serve our community for over 100 years, responding to emergencies with dedication and professionalism.

Why Your Vote is Important
Your participation is vital for the continued success of our fire company and the safety of Glendora.
This year, you will be asked to vote on the following:
1. The annual budget
2. Question #2: A proposed 29% increase in the Fire Tax, which equates to approximately 21 cents per day.

This increase is essential to support our Stipend Firefighter Program. As volunteerism declines, this program helps us attract and retain qualified firefighters, ensuring that we can respond effectively to emergencies.

The Consequences of Inaction
Without your support for these measures, particularly the stipend program, we risk longer response times and reduced coverage during emergencies. The safety of your families, homes, and businesses relies on a strong firefighting force.

Your Voice Matters
Voting is not just a statement of support; it is an investment in the future of Glendora’s fire protection. We urge you to vote 'Yes' on Questions 1 and 2 today. Together, we can continue our proud legacy and ensure that our community remains safe and protected.

Thank you for your trust and support! See less

Letter to the Residents of Glendora and Fire District #1

Annual Fire District Election – Request for Support

Dear Residents of Glendora and Fire District #1,

As your Fire Chief, with 33 years of dedicated service to this community, I am writing to ask for your support at the annual Fire District Elections on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The polls will be open from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and your participation is vital to the continued success of our fire company and the safety of Glendora.

For over 100 years, the Glendora Fire Company has proudly served our residents, responding to every emergency with professionalism and care. Our commitment remains unwavering, but we face new challenges that require your help and understanding.

This year, you will be asked to vote on the annual budget and Question #2, which proposes a 29% increase in the Fire Tax—amounting to approximately 21 cents per day. This increase directly supports the Stipend Firefighter Program, an initiative that is crucial due to the ongoing decline in volunteerism. Fewer volunteers mean we must adapt to ensure reliable emergency response, and the stipend program helps us attract and retain qualified firefighters.

Without your support for these measures, particularly the stipend program, we risk longer response times and reduced coverage during emergencies. The safety of our families, homes, and businesses depends on sustaining a strong firefighting force.

Your vote is not just a statement of support; it is an investment in the future of Glendora’s fire protection. I urge you to vote 'Yes' on Questions 1 and 2 on February 21st. Together, we can maintain the proud legacy of the Glendora Fire Company and ensure that our community remains safe and protected.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Respectfully,

Chief of Department Harry D. Woods

🚒 Important Update on Fire Tax Increase 🚒

Dear Glendora residents,

As mail-in ballots arrive, we want to clarify the 29% increase in the fire tax to prevent any alarm.

🔍 Understanding the Increase:
Current Fire Tax: $213.50 for the average household at $175,000.
Proposed Fire Tax: $275.42.
Total Increase: About $61.92 annually (approximately $5.16/month or $0.17/day).

💡 Why is This Necessary?
- To maintain high-quality fire and rescue services.
- To address staffing shortages and rising costs.
- To support our dedicated firefighters and improve response times.

🗳️ Voting Information:
Vote in person at the Glendora Fire House on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 2 PM to 9 PM, or submit your mail-in ballot.
