With classrooms and other school facilities that are nearly 70 years old, GUSD has carefully assessed all local school facilities and identified repairs and upgrades that are needed to keep schools safe, up-to-date, and functioning. To address these repairs, the GUSD Board is considering placing a school facilities improvement bond extension measure on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot. This measure would not increase tax rates above the amount currently paid. By law, a school facility improvement bond extension measure would be subject to strict fiscal accountability protections, ensuring every penny raised would stay in Glendora and benefit local schools only. Glendora Unified School District (GUSD) provides high quality education for more than 6,000 students in preschool through high school at ten local schools. To protect strong local education in Glendora, the GUSD Board is considering placing an $86 million bond measure on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot that would extend, but not increase, current tax rates. By law, a school facility improvement bond extension measure would be subject to strict fiscal accountability protections, ensuring every penny raised would stay in Glendora and benefit local schools only. Student and staff safety is a #1 priority. To address priority school repairs and upgrades, GUSD has an opportunity to generate $86 million in locally controlled funding by extending, but not increasing, the current tax rate. By law, a school facility improvement bond extension measure would be subject to strict fiscal accountability protections, ensuring every penny raised would stay in Glendora and benefit local schools only.
