AEMT CLASS REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

The Newton Township Training Division is now accepting applications for our upcoming Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course.

This accelerated program begins August 31, 2026, and concludes January 6, 2027. Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at:

Applicants must successfully complete an EMT-B knowledge entrance exam before being accepted into the program.

Course cost: $1,800
Class size: Limited to 15 students

🚒 HYDRANT FLUSHING NOTICE 🚒

Fire hydrant flushing will be taking place in Glenford on Sunday June 7, 2026. Residents may notice temporary drops in water pressure or slight discoloration in their water during this process. If discoloration occurs, run cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

Hydrant flushing helps maintain water quality and ensures hydrants are operating properly for fire protection.

Yesterday, members of Hopewell Township Fire Department and Thorn Township Fire Department participated in a grain bin rescue simulator sponsored by the Ohio State Fire Marshal. It was outstanding hands-on training and a great example of cooperation and teamwork between departments. We appreciate everyone involved in making the training a success and helping strengthen emergency response capabilities for our communities

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER – 36 HOUR CLASS

Newton Township Training Division is hosting a 36-hour Volunteer Firefighter class this summer! This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get started in the fire service or gain hands-on training in a structured, fast-paced environment.

June 25, June 28, July 9, July 12, and July 19

📍 Location:

💰 Course Fee: $600
✔️ State Fire Marshal Grant Reimbursable

This class is designed to provide foundational firefighting skills and real-world training experience. Whether you’re looking to join a department or expand your current knowledge, this course is a great step forward.
