🎅🚒 Santa is Coming to Hopewell Township 🚒🎅

Get ready, Glenford! Santa Claus is trading in his sleigh for a fire truck this year! He’ll be making his way through town with the help of our Hopewell Township Fire Department on Wednesday, December 17, arriving at the station around 6:30 PM.

Once he arrives, Santa will gather everyone around to read ’Twas the Night Before Christmas a favorite for kids and adults alike! ❤️

It's officially fall fire season, meaning that the typical open burn ban from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. for unincorporated areas is in place every day for October and November (https://ohiodnr.gov/discover-and-learn/safety-conservation/about-ODNR/forestry/fire-management-program/open-burn-laws). Make sure you are aware of any other open burning restrictions that might be in place, including Ohio EPA (https://epa.ohio.gov/divisions-and-offices/air-pollution-control/permitting/open-burning) or any local fire department regulations.

On top of the burning restrictions, be sure to never burn on dry and windy days, even during an unrestricted time. Debris burns can escape control quickly and cause a lot of damage. Please be part of the solution and help prevent wildfires!

Stay safe this Fall!

🔥Fall wildfire season is here. Be smart and stay safe🔥

Starting October 1, daytime outdoor burning is prohibited from 6AM to 6PM in unincorporated areas across Ohio. With dry conditions and drought in many parts of the state, the risk of wildfires is elevated..

Follow these tips from our Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry:

🚫 Don’t burn trash or debris
🌬️ Watch for gusty winds and low humidity
💧 Keep water and tools nearby
👀 Never leave a fire unattended
♻️ Consider composting instead of burning
