was due as the search company on the box for a house fire in the 5700 BLK 84th Ave, in New Carrollton. Chief 19A reported fire showing from the basement of a 2 story split level. The Rescue Engine was the first arriving special service and reported to the basement to perform primary searches, which were negative throughout. The crew then completed secondaries on the 2nd floor, which were also negative.

This afternoon the Volunteers of Glenn Dale answered the call and volunteered to provide dedicated BLS staffing of the Akwasidae festival being held at Bowie State University. Glenn Dale Volunteers provided staffing at the EMS Tent/Bus and assisting where needed.

This past Monday evening at our monthly company meeting, Deputy Chief Wood presented Fire Lieutenant Timothy Bautz with several awards from our banquet. Tim was presented with a Top Responder award, a Chief’s award and the Earle M. Woods Memorial Firefighter of the Year award. Congratulations Tim and we thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the Glenn Dale Fire Association and the citizens we serve.

Yesterday evening, was alerted as the second due engine to box alarm 16-01 for a reported house fire. Engine Co. 16 arrived to a 1 story single family with fire showing. The Rescue Engine arrived and assumed their second due duties, picking up 16’s supply line and deploying a backup line to extinguish fire on the first floor and in the attic.

responded to a tree onto a car with entrapment in a parking lot in the 3500 BLK Enterprise Rd on Box 18-09. The Squad arrived and found one parked vehicle with significant intrusion to the roof due to a fallen tree, with one occupant trapped. The crew stabilized the vehicle using step chocks and used Rescue struts to stabilize the tree, before performing a sidewall blowout on the passenger side to extricate the patient, who was transferred by EMS crews.

deploying a 250’ preconnect on a first due box alarm this morning for a fire in the kitchen. The crew discovered a microwave with no extension and returned the box.
