Ahtna shareholders attending AFN: Several convenient on‑site government services will be available during the 2026 AFN Convention, held October 22–24, 2026, at the Dena’ina Center in Anchorage.
Throughout all three days of the Convention, attendees will have access to representatives from the U.S. Department of State, Alaska DMV, and Alaska Bureau of Vital Statistics. This is a great opportunity to take care of important documentation and services while you are at AFN.
U.S. Department of State — Passport Services
The U.S. Department of State will be on-site all three days to offer passport services. If you need a new U.S. passport or are applying for a child’s passport, please come prepared with the required documentation.
What to Bring:
• Completed passport application (Form DS‑11 for first-time applicants; do not sign until instructed)
• Proof of U.S. citizenship (birth certificate, previous passport, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship)
• Valid photo identification (government-issued ID and photocopy of front and back for applicants 18+)
• Photocopy of your citizenship document
• Passport photo
• Payment for all applicable U.S. Department of State and acceptance fees

Alaska DMV
The Alaska DMV will also be onsite all three days, providing access to DMV services. If you plan to visit, please bring your current identification and any documents related to the service you need. Requirements vary by transaction, so reviewing DMV guidelines in advance is encouraged.

Alaska Bureau of Vital Statistics
Representatives from the Alaska Bureau of Vital Statistics will be on-site throughout the Convention. This gives attendees an opportunity to access vital records services, including assistance with birth, death, marriage, and other vital records.
If you are requesting a record, please bring appropriate identification and any information needed to help locate the record, such as names, dates, and places associated with the record.

We encourage attendees to come prepared with the necessary documents and identification for the service they need. Requirements and fees vary by agency and by transaction. These onsite services are being provided as a convenience to AFN attendees, and each agency will determine eligibility, documentation requirements, and applicable fees.
