Today is one of my favorite days in Albany: Adirondack Day! It's a great way to showcase our region, its beauty and the wealth of opportunities it offers to all. I hope you enjoy this brief video we filmed today about it!

The only thing Democrat lawmakers can agree on so far in this very late, unfinished budget: raise taxes and expand protections for illegal immigrants. Instead of doubling down on bad policies, they should be focusing on the outrageous energy costs and high cost of living in our state.

It was great to celebrate the Bolton High School Boys Varsity Basketball Team on its Class D State Championship victory in Albany this week. I appreciated having the chance to personally congratulate them and introduce this resolution in their honor to commemorate their impressive feat.

It’s National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. I want to take a moment to acknowledge crime victims, their loved ones and the men and women who assist, serve and protect. As Senator, I’ll always put the need for justice for crime victims and their communities first.

Happy Earth Day everyone! I took the time today in Albany to celebrate and even hugged a tree in the process. Don’t believe me? Watch the video below until the end!

It’s been more than a year since Governor Hochul and DOCCS Commissioner Martuscello promised our COs that they’d take prison safety seriously. That promise is still unfulfilled and recent events have showed just how much more needs to be done. I sponsor the legislation that would make an immediate impact on the issues I’ve heard directly about from the officers working and living inside our senate district. The governor and DOCCS must uphold their end of the bargain and keep their promises to crack down on violence and contraband inside our correctional facilities.

It's becoming a dismal, embarrassing routine this month. Another Monday, another budget extender to ensure the state meets its basic financial obligations. Governor Hochul and Democrat Legislative leaders' inability to negotiate a fiscally responsible state budget is a deep disservice to our taxpayers.

National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week ends tomorrow. Earlier in the week, I met with 911 call center staff in Warren and Washington Counties and thanked them for their service. I’d like to take a moment now and thank all our public safety telecommunicators for their commitment to helping those in distress.

The recent spate of violent attacks in Clinton Correctional Facility and at prisons across our state. It's unacceptable. The CO strike happened more than a year ago and Governor Hochul promised reforms. We're still waiting. I have legislation to immediately make prisons safer, from repealing HALT to cracking down on contraband. Let's pass these bills and protect our COs.

Today I helped pass a budget extender in order to ensure the state meets its financial obligations and that public employees get paid. For the fifth year in a row, Democrat leaders have failed to pass an on-time, responsible spending plan. Taxpayers deserve better.

Happy Easter! Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed day.
