With a heavy heart, we are sad to hear about the passing of Amy Bartlett-Regan. After working as the Warren County Attorney until her retirement in 2016, she has been on the boards of many organizations, most recently on the Crandall Public Library Board of Trustees.

North County Arts is holding its Annual Photography Show at the Friends of Crandall Public Library Art Gallery through July 31, 2026. There is a reception, which the public is invited to attend, on Thursday July 9, 2026, from 5:00-7:00PM.

The gallery is located on the second floor of Crandall Library located at 251 Glen Street; Glens Falls. Crandall Library is open Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed on Sundays throughout the summer.

Beginning tomorrow, our volunteers among the Friends of Crandall Public Library will be resting and enjoying the summer; most likely catching up on our reading lists. We will re-open donations on August 1st, as the summer winds down.

But be sure to keep showing up at the Crandall Public Library this summer to explore the nearly limitless selection of books, summer programs, and more. The library has a calendar available online, listing the many activities planned.

Also, if you want to support the library further, check out our two lovingly curated kiosks at either the Park or Glen Street entrances.

On this day in 1951, The Friends of Crandall Public Library were officially incorporated.

Since then, the Friends have generously supported our mission by funding equipment and building upgrades, supporting programs for children and adults, honoring our staff each year, and providing access to resources like Bookpage magazine—just to name a few of their many contributions.

We are grateful to these hardworking and dedicated volunteers for their unwavering commitment to the Library and the difference they make in our community every day.

Yesterday, Christine and I joined thousands of people at loweradkpride’s fourth annual Pride Festival. We gave away five boxes and bags full of books, expounding folks about the 75 years of the Friends of Crandall Public Library and our next book sale in October with Downtown Glens Falls.

We are proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community ensuring that access to all books is accessible and available to all.

Last week’s book sale sold thousands of books to help support Crandall Public Library. Thank you everyone, and we hope you enjoy and share your special book finds throughout the summer!

At our June meeting, our group enjoyed cake and read through comments from the library staff to commemorate 75 years.

Started in June 26, 1951, the Friends of Crandall Library has brought together a special group of folks from around the area to find ways to support this library.

Our donation bins are now open, accessible from the Glen Street entrance, to gather more gently used books for our October sale. We are excited to be a part of Downtown Glens Falls’ Boo 4 You event again this year!

All biographies will be free, and if you fill a bag with Mass Market Paperback books, it’s only $1!

Today’s the first day of our Spring Book Sale!

And we have fun surprises planned to celebrate the Friends of Crandall Library turning 75 years old on June 26.

Join us today and tomorrow from 9am to 4pm in the Crandall Public Library Community Room as well as down the hallway to the expansive shelves with fiction, mysteries, and classics.

Less than three weeks until our Spring Book Sale!

And we have learned something special from utilizing the archival expertise of the lovely folks in the Folklife Center. The Friends of Crandall Library will be turning 75 years old on June 26! We will have some fun surprises in store for our book sale to celebrate.

Stay tuned for archived documents to be resurfaced and shared as we get close to June 26.

But remember to keep Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th on your calendar for our next book sale.

As our book room continues to grow with used books, we will be pausing donations starting on Friday, May 15th to help us begin getting the sale ready.

Visit the latest exhibit at the Friends of Crandall Library Gallery on the second floor to see woven expressions, an exhibit of weaving by the Garnet Weavers

Inspired by the uniqueness of Adirondack Garnet and its impact on the area, a local weaving group chose the name Garnet Weavers. As a group, they are comprised of beginners to experienced weavers. What brings them together is a love of weaving.

Meet the Weavers at the opening reception this Thursday between 4-6pm.
