What a powerful reminder of what a community can accomplish when it invests in its young people. β€οΈπŸ–€

Congratulations to the remarkable members of the Class of 2026 who earned more than $170,000 in scholarships and awards. These students have dedicated years to their academics, athletics, arts, leadership, community service, and personal growth. Their hard work, perseverance, character, and determination have brought them to this moment, and these awards are a reflection of the bright futures that lie ahead.

Behind every scholarship is a story, a family honoring a loved one, an organization giving back, or a community member choosing to invest in the next generation. These awards represent more than financial support; they are expressions of confidence in a group of young people who have already demonstrated their ability to make a positive impact on the world around them.

Thank you to all of the alumni, families, organizations, and donors whose generosity is helping students pursue their dreams and reach new heights. Your support opens doors and creates opportunities that will have a lasting impact for years to come.

A special recognition goes to Arlene Tobias and Rob Amberger for the tremendous time, care, and dedication they put into making this meaningful tradition possible each year.

To the graduates: You have earned this recognition. Your community believes in you, is proud of you, and cannot wait to see all that you accomplish next. πŸŽ“

πŸ’šπŸ©΅ Youth Voices Leading the Way at WAIT House

On Friday afternoon, WAIT House was honored to visit Glens Falls High School and hear a presentation from students who have developed an exciting vision for a WAIT House Youth Advisory Board.

Created by students, for students, this initiative will bring together 12 youth leaders who will provide valuable feedback, share their perspectives, and help shape programs and services that impact young people throughout our community. Their mission is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: youth deserve a voice in decisions that affect their lives.

What makes this initiative especially remarkable is that it is believed to be the first Youth Advisory Board of its kind in our area. These students are not only creating opportunities for themselves, but they are also helping establish a model for meaningful youth engagement that could inspire organizations and communities throughout the region.

The students presented a thoughtful plan to guide, enhance, and strengthen WAIT House programs through youth insight, innovation, and lived experience. Their professionalism, confidence, and passion for making a difference left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

We were also grateful for the opportunity to meet with Mrs. Stewart, whose encouragement and dedication to empowering young leaders helped bring this vision to life.

At WAIT House, we believe that when young people are given a seat at the table, everyone benefits. This Youth Advisory Board represents more than a new program, it represents trust, collaboration, and a commitment to ensuring that the voices of youth are heard, valued, and acted upon. Seeing these students step forward with such purpose and leadership gives us tremendous hope for the future.

A special thank you to the students for their hard work, courage, and commitment to service. We are excited to support this groundbreaking initiative and look forward to learning from these young leaders as we work together to strengthen our community.
