The Shaler Area School District Orchestra Program is incredibly grateful for the generosity of The Farina Foundation in conjunction with Brighton Music Center, who recently donated five cellos to our string program.
The Farina Foundation was established to honor the legacy of Frank J. Farina, Jr. (former Chairman of the North Allegheny Music Department), The Farina Foundation believes that every child should have the opportunity to fulfill their musical aspirations. Through their Play-It-Forward program, they provide new and professionally refurbished instruments to school music departments to ensure financial constraints never prevent a child from playing music. Brighton Music Center serves local school districts with instrument rentals, lessons, and expert repairs. As a close community partner, they work hand-in-hand with local charities to collect, refurbish, and distribute high-quality instruments directly into the hands of young musicians.
We are incredibly grateful to both The Farina Foundation and Brighton Music Center for their generosity in donating these cellos. The orchestra program has been growing, and the additional cellos allow us to provide quality instruments to our cello students.
