🎲🍕 Games, pizza, and a pop-up Food Pantry—what a great night! 🥳

Earlier this week, Northfield Township teamed up with the Cook County Sheriff's Office (Official) and West Northfield School District 31 for a fun-filled Game Night at Salem Walk, complete with pizza, games and community connection!

We were also thrilled to bring our first-ever pop-up Food Pantry directly to Salem Walk residents. 🛍️❤️ A very special thank-you goes to the Crate and Barrel volunteers, who were integral to making the pop-up Pantry a success—from helping us haul and set up all that food to getting everything packed up afterward. We truly couldn’t have done it without them!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a fun and meaningful evening! Coming Together. Making a Difference. 💙

A new law gives townships another tool to help neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

Senate Bill 3565 allows townships to use General Assistance (GA) funds to provide food and other basic necessities to people in need, even if they do not meet GA eligibility requirements. This change gives townships greater flexibility to respond to community needs based on need—not just program eligibility.

At Northfield Township, we believe the ability to respond quickly and locally is essential, particularly as individuals and families face growing challenges accessing food and other necessities. SB 3565 strengthens our ability to help ensure our neighbors have access to the basic resources they need.
